Screenprinting, also known as silkscreening, is the art of making art reproductions with the aid of a screen. A screen is a wood or metal frame with a fine mesh fabric stretched and glued to the frame. I will now explain how we screenprint. The screen is then coated with a light sensitive liquid called emulsion. Art is created with the aid of a computer and then printed out on vellum which is a very thin, translucent paper. This is called a positive. The positive is then placed on an exposure unit with a powerful metal halide bulb than shines up through the positive to the screen coated with the emulsion. The printed art on the positive blocks light from hitting the emulsion. The exposed emulsion become very hard while the blocked emulsion remains water soluble. The screen is then washed out which created a stencil. The screen is then taped up and loaded into place on the printing press where it is loaded with the appropriate color ink. A rubber blade squeegies the ink through the stencil on to the shirt, where it is then heated to a minimum of 325 degrees in a conveyor oven that looks like pizza oven at Papa John's. The ink then cures and is ready for wear.

Embroidery is the art of creating designs on fabric using needle and thread. We start by creating a design from scratch or by using existing art to create a stitch file on the computer. This is called digitizing. The digitized file is then loaded into the embroidery machine. The design is loaded and the desired color changes are programmed in. The garment is then hooped along with a stablizing fabric known as backing and loaded on the machine. When finished, the design must be inspected to clip any excess threads as well as the excess backing trimmed away from the back of the garment
